Metra’s Nicole McGann honored in 40 under 40 list

Mass Transit Magazine has honored Metra’s very own Nicole McGann, Manager of Safety Reporting and Risk Reduction, as one of the industry’s leaders, naming her to its 2017 list of top transit professionals.

 

McGann was selected from more than 70 applicants from transit agencies around the country who participated in a professional development program for those who are new to transit and looking to jumpstart their career within the organization and industry.

McGann joined the Safety Department full-time in 2011 under Hilary Konczal, Chief Safety and Environmental Officer.

“Nicole has shown initiative and we’re very proud to have her recognized for her leadership skills,” said Konczal.

“We thrive on our ability to identify and promote future leaders and to help them succeed because they are the future of our railroad,” said Metra CEO/Executive Director Don Orseno. “We congratulate Nicole on being recognized by the industry.”

McGann helped create and brand Metra’s Confidential Close Call Reporting System (C3RS), which is designed to proactively address safety issues and create a more positive safety culture.
