Metra Alert UP-N - Union Pacific North Will Expand Service May 20th - New Peterson-Ridge Station Opens

On May 20, Metra's newest station at Peterson/Ridge in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood is set to open to the public. The Union Pacific North schedule will be expanded to accommodate the station stop and increase options for riders across the line. Additional service will be added to fill gaps in rush hour service and reduce crowding on some rush hour trains. For more information, visit metra.com.

Metra Alert MD-W - MDW Wood Dale Platform 2 Construction Notice

Beginning Monday, March 25, the west half of Platform 2 (inbound platform) will be closed for rehabilitation for approximately 1 month. Commuters must use the east pedestrian crosswalk to access the platforms. Once completed, the work will move to the east half of Platform 2 to complete the project by the end of May. Please allow additional time to access the in-service platforms and exercise caution near the work zones

Metra Alert UP-W - Geneva Platform 2 Rehabilitation

On Monday, October 9, the Geneva outbound platform (Platform 2) will be closed for rehabilitation through the end of 2024. Commuters must use the temporary platform located east of Third Street. All trains will board passengers from the rear cars on this platform. Please allow additional time to access the in-service platform and exercise caution near the work zones.

Metra Alert UP-W - Union Pacific West Third Main Line Project.

Union Pacific announced the Route 31 underpass in Geneva will be shut down for approximately four months starting Monday, March 4, as part of the rail company’s Third Main Line project. The official detour route will direct motorists/trucks heading north on Route 31 in Batavia to turn east on Fabyan Parkway, north on Route 25 and west on Route 64 in St. Charles. The detour will be vice versa for drivers traveling south on Route 31.  Local traffic can use Third Street in Geneva, but drivers should be alert for pedestrians crossing the road throughout the downtown. Metra Alert UP-W - River Forest Platform 2 Rehabilitation

Beginning Wednesday, May 8, the east half of Platform 2 (island platform) will be closed for rehabilitation. Once completed, the work will move to the west half of Platform 2 to complete the project by the end of November.

Please allow additional time to access the in-service platform and exercise caution near the work zones.

Metra Alert RI - Construction to affect midday service on the Rock Island Beverly Branch May 20 & 21

On Monday, May 20 and Tuesday, May 21, the crossing replacement project on the Rock Island Beverly Branch will impact midday service. Outbound Beverly Branch Line Trains #605 through #615 (departures from LaSalle Street between 8:25 a.m. and 1:25 p.m.) will operate on the Rock Island mainline, making stops at 95th Street/Longwood, 103rd Street/Washington Heights and Blue Island/Vermont Street, where they will turn around for an inbound trip on the Beverly Branch. Passengers on these outbound trains who need to access Beverly Branch stations will be allowed to stay onboard the train for the inbound trip, which will make all scheduled stops on the Beverly Branch. For additional information click here.

MED Train #806 Delayed
Train #806 scheduled to arrive Millennium station at 8:49 a.m. is on the move and may be operating 15 to 25 minutes behind schedule due to track construction.
Metra Alert ME - Metra Electric 103rd station to close November 20 - Full Reconstruction

As part of the Metra Electric Community Initiative to transform 13 stations on the district, the 103rd Street/Rosemoor station will be closed beginning November 20 for a full reconstruction. The station is expected to be closed 7 to 12 months. Durng this time, customers can use 107th Street and 95th Street/Chicago State University as alternatives. For additional information click here.

Metra Alert ME - 147th St./Sibley Blvd station closed for reconstruction until late summer 2024

The 147th street/Sibley Blvd station is closed for reconstruction until late summer 2024. During this time, trains will not stop at this station. As alternates, please use the nearby Ivanhoe or Harvey stations. Updates will be provided once the rehabiliation is complete and the station is accessible. Metra apologizes for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Metra Alert ME - Homewood Station Closed April 1 through May 20 - Stairway Replacement.

The Homewood Station will close and be without Metra service from April 1, 2024 through May 20, 2024. The closing is required for the continuation of the station rehabilitation project that now includes the replacement of the platform staircase. The platform elevator will be out of service for 90 days.

Metra Alert ME - Homewood Platform Elevator - Out Of Service

The Homewood Platform elevator is out of service until further notice. Alternative accessible locations are the Flossmoor station and Calumet station.

Metra Alert ME - Millennium Station elevator out of service until further notice

The Millennium Station elevator is out of service until further notice.  Customers can use the elevator located at 205 N Michigan, which leads to the South Water entrance to Millennium Station

Metra Alert ME - Homewood Station Will Reopen May 20th

The Homewood station will reopen on May 20, 2024, with full train service and a new staircase to the platform. The elevator will remain out of service for now, therefore the station is not currently ADA accessible. Customers holding tickets to Calumet will be permitted to ride to Homewood for the remainder of the month.
