To see which trains might be delayed by construction projects, look for the hardhat icon in the schedules for each line. 

BNSF: See below for effective construction dates

June 10 through July 8: Weekday track maintenance occurring between Cicero and Aurora.  Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

Metra Electric: See below for effective construction dates

Effective until further notice: Weekday and weekend construction taking place at 147th St. Sibley station for rehab.  Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

Milwaukee District North: See below for effective construction dates

Effective until further notice: Weekday and weekend construction taking place near Grayland. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

July 4: On July 4th a Sunday schedule will be in effect. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes due to residual delays from track work.

Milwaukee District West: See below for effective construction dates

Effective until further notice: Weekday and weekend construction taking place near Hanover Park for a new crossing renewal. Weekday inbound trains 2228-2244 and outbound trains 2209-2223 may experience delays up to 10 minutes. Weekend inbound trains 2700-2720 and outbound trains 2701-2721 may experience delays up to 10 minutes.

Rock Island: See below for effective dates

Effective until further notice:  Weekday and weekend track construction taking place near Blue Island. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

July 2 through July 3: Weekend track maintenance occurring between 66th Ct. and Mokena. Weekend inbound trains (202-322) and outbound trains (205-119) may experience delays up to 10 minutes.

Union Pacific North: See below for effective construction dates

April 8 through July 8: Weekday construction occurring near the new Petersen Ridge station and near Lake Bluff. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed 15 minutes.

Union Pacific Northwest: See below for effective construction dates

July 5 through July 8: Weekday and weekend track maintenance taking place between Barrington and Fox River Grove. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed 20 minutes.

Union Pacific West: See below for effective construction dates

Beginning June 8: A major maintenance project to replace approximately 90,000 ties will delay marked trains up to 15 minutes. Please check back regularly as trains affected may change. Read more about it here.
