To see which trains might be delayed by construction projects, look for the hardhat icon in the schedules for each line. 

BNSF: See below for effective construction dates

July 8 through December 2: Weekday track maintenance occurring between Cicero and Naperville.  Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

December 3 through December 4: Weekend construction occurring near Lisle. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed 20 minutes.

Metra Electric: See below for effective construction dates

Effective until further notice: Weekday and weekend construction taking place for multiple projects including: 147th St. Sibley station for rehab and track maintenance on all 3 branches. Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

Milwaukee District North: See below for effective construction dates

Effective until further notice: Weekday and weekend construction taking place near Grayland. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

Milwaukee District West: See below for effective construction dates

Effective until further notice: Weekday and weekend construction taking place near Hanover Park for a new crossing renewal. Weekday inbound trains 2228-2240 and outbound trains 2209-2223 may experience delays up to 10 minutes. Weekend inbound trains 2700-2720 and outbound trains 2701-2721 may experience delays up to 10 minutes.

Rock Island District: See below for effective construction dates

Effective until further notice: On-going weekday track maintenance taking place near Blue Island for signal upgrade work. Trains with the helmet logos underneath may be delayed up to 10 minutes.

Union Pacific North: See below for effective construction dates

November 1 through December 4: Due to a tie project near Lake Bluff, evening trains 366-374 have had their departure times pushed back 30 minutes. Inbound evening trains 366-374 may experience delays up to 10 minutes. Outbound evening trains 365-377 may experience delays up to 20 minutes. Also, due to track work between Clybourn and Evanston, Main St., midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 15 minutes.

Union Pacific Northwest: See below for effective construction dates

November 14 through December 2: Weekday construction between Cary and Crystal Lake. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 20 minutes.

 

Union Pacific West: See below for effective construction dates

November 19 through November 20: Weekend track maintenance happening between Elmhurst and Geneva. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 15 minutes.
