The below dates indicate the duration of construction projects, NOT how long Metra intends to keep the alternate schedules in effect. To see which trains might be delayed by construction projects, look for the hardhat icon in the schedules for each line. 

BNSF: See below for effective construction dates

Effective September 7 until further notice: Weekday track maintenance occurring between Cicero and Naperville. Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed up to 10 minutes.

Metra Electric: See below for effective construction dates

Effective August 7 until further notice: Weekday and weekend construction taking place for the 147th St. Sibley station rehabilitation and a tie gang. Weekday midday trains (In: 214-130 / Out: 215-165) may be delayed 15 minutes. Weekend midday trains (In: 800-828 / Out: 8301-829) may be delayed up to 15 minutes.

Effective September 30 until further notice: Weekday and weekend evening construction taking place between 11th Place and University Park. Evening trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed 15 minutes.

Milwaukee District North: See below for effective construction dates

Effective August 7 until further notice: Weekday and weekend construction taking place near Grayland & Lake Forest. Weekday midday trains (including 2618) with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed up to 10 minutes.

Rock Island: See below for effective construction dates

Effective February 24 through February 25: Weekend construction taking place near 66th Ct. Weekend trains (In: 202-122 / Out: 205-221) may be delayed up to 10 minutes.

Union Pacific North: See below for effective construction dates

Effective January 31 through March 1: Weekday construction for rail replacement between Lake Bluff and Waukegan. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 20 minutes.

Effective February 24: Saturday track construction near Clybourn. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 20 minutes.

Effective February 25: Sunday track construction near Winnetka. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 25 minutes.

Union Pacific Northwest: See below for effective construction dates

Effective January 31 through March 1: Weekday track maintenance between Crystal Lake to Harvard. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 20 minutes.
