The July 18 meeting of the Metra Board of Directors will be held in Joliet, continuing the board’s efforts to promote greater openness and transparency to riders in the six-county Chicago metropolitan area.

The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on July 18 in the Will County Board Room on the second floor of the Will County office building, 302 N. Chicago St., Joliet.

It will be the second time the Metra Board has met outside of the agency’s downtown Chicago headquarters at 547 W. Jackson. In April, the board met in the DuPage County Board Room in Wheaton.

“As part of our commitment to openness and transparency, we are making ourselves and our deliberations more accessible to the people we represent in the six-county area,” said Board Chairman Martin J. Oberman. “We believe it is important to periodically hold our meetings throughout our service area so riders can more easily participate and have their voices heard by Metra’s board and management.”
