For the tenth year, Metra and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation will spread holiday cheer by hosting a Toys for Tots drive at all downtown Chicago Metra terminals from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14.
The Toys for Tots program relies on the generosity of the public, and it is that generosity that brings the idea of Santa Claus to the homes of less fortunate children. Metra hopes to transform its trains into Santa’s sleds, with our customers delivering toys to Millennium, LaSalle Street, Chicago Union Station and the Ogilvie Transportation Center.
If you wish to participate in this annual event and help ensure that children across Chicagoland have a joyous holiday, please bring a new, unwrapped toy and drop it off on your way to work at any of our downtown stations. Marines and Metra employees will collect toys from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. during the morning rush period on Tuesday, Dec. 14.
