First Published - 05/31/2020 - 9:22PM

Through Sunday, June 7, Metra will be operating a modified Sunday schedule with the last late night inbound train and last late night outbound train cancelled. There will be no service on the SouthWest Service, Heritage Corridor or North Central Service lines. Riders are advised that more trains could be cancelled during the day depending on circumstances; we will be closely monitoring events and our priority will be the safety of our passengers, employees and our system. Please pay attention to this website for the latest updates.

Sunday schedules can be viewed on these timetables: Metra Electric   Rock Island    BNSF     UP West   Milwaukee District West    Milwaukee District North    UP North     UP Northwest (the last train on the UP Northwest Line will leave downtown at 10:30 p.m. instead of 11:30 p.m.)

We hope to be able to expand service to our alternate schedules posted here next week if possible.

Link-Up and PlusBus passes

You can use the Ventra App to buy Link-Up or PlusBus passes in addition to your Metra mobile monthly pass. You’ll need to have a Ventra card, and you’ll need to have a Ventra account and make the purchase within the Ventra App. The Link-Up pass is good for connecting travel on Pace anytime and on CTA on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The PlusBus pass is good for travel on Pace anytime.

Here’s what you do:

  • If you don’t have a Ventra card yet, buy one from any Ventra vending machine or more than 1,300 Ventra retail locations. The cost of a new card is $5, but this is refunded to you as Ventra transit value when you register your card within 90 days of purchase. (You can apply this value toward the purchase of a pass, rides on CTA or Pace or even toward the purchase of a Metra mobile ticket in the Ventra App.)
  • Next, register your new Ventra card in your Ventra account, or create a Ventra account in the Ventra App and register the card.
  • Once you have a Ventra card registered with your Ventra account, you’re ready to buy a Link-Up or PlusBus pass. First, buy a Metra mobile monthly pass.
    • Once you complete that process, the new monthly ticket will appear under “My Metra Tickets.”
    • At the bottom of the “My Metra Tickets” page will be a prompt for you to buy a Link-Up or PlusBus pass. Click on the link and you’ll be asked to select the Ventra card you want to use for that pass.
    • Next, select which pass you want, and then select “Checkout.”
    • You’ll be asked for the select your payment method. The options will include any credit or debit cards (including pre-tax transit benefits debit cards) or Ventra transit value affiliated with your Ventra account. You can even choose to split the payment between two cards.
    • Once you’ve paid, your Ventra card will be loaded with the pass you selected. Use it to pay your fare when boarding CTA buses or trains in rush hours or Pace buses anytime.
