Metra has extended the validity of One-Way and 10-Ride tickets that have expired since March 2020. Those tickets will be accepted through April 1, 2021. One-Way Ticket
For travel from one station destination to another. One-Way Tickets are valid for 90 days including the day of purchase, and they are not refundable.
Round Trip Plus (Ventra only)
Round Trip Plus (Ventra only)
These tickets are good for unlimited rides on a single day between the zones selected. Available in the Ventra app only. Round Trip Plus tickets are valid for 90 days including the day of purchase, and they are not refundable.
10-Ride Ticket
These tickets are good for one year. Ten-Ride Tickets are not refundable. This ticket is ideal for occasional commuters or leisure travelers. One ticket can be shared by people riding together.
Weekend Passes
The $7 Saturday or Sunday Day Pass (available starting Feb. 1) is good for unlimited rides on either Saturday or Sunday. In addition, the $10 Weekend Pass (available on the Ventra app only starting Feb. 1) is good for unlimited rides on both weekend days. Either pass can be used in conjunction with Metra's Family Fares. Not valid for travel on the South Shore (NICTD).
Monthly Unlimited Ride Pass
Monthly Passes are for the exclusive use of the purchaser and are not transferable. Monthly Passes are valid until noon on the first business day of the following month. Refunds are subject to a $5 fee per transaction if returned after the first day of the month. Effective June 1, 2019, Monthly Pass holders are permitted to use their tickets for unlimited weekend travel across the Metra system. This allows Monthly Pass holders to travel outside the zones indicated on their passes at no additional cost on Saturdays and Sundays.
Reduced fares on the above fare products are available for:
- Citizens 65 or older, customers with disabilities, and Medicare cardholders who have an RTA-issued Reduced Fare Permit (apply for the permit here).
- Military personnel with proper military identification indicating they are on active duty.
- K-12 elementary students with school ID or letter of certification.
- Children age 7-11 qualify for reduced One-Way Tickets on weekdays. Children 6 and under are free, and children age 7-11 are free on weekends.
